Dreaming of me

I would like to speak a little of dreams, both sleeping and waking. Dreams have held a measure of power throughout my life. They have influenced who I am, and who I would like to be. The night before I was born, my mom had a dream. In her dream, she saw a young girl dancing through a field of flowers. When she awoke, she realized it was a scene from the movie "Heidi." I have told people that I was named after the movie, but perhaps it would be more appropriate to say that I was named for a dream.

I was born in December of 1979, in a small house in the city of Eureka. That year a lady named Barbara Berger painted a picture she titled

Yay! A new semester, and with it comes (you guessed it!) New Art!

Ok, anyway, this is my first project for Intermediate Digital Imaging... it was incredibly fun, and exceedingly frustrating :laughs: The rules of the assignment were pretty strict, so even though I was working in Photoshop, there was a lot that I COULD have done, but wasn't allowed ~scowls~ I may remake this, without the limitations put on me in class... mainly just 'cause I had a much more involved original idea that I just couldn't do in the time allowed, and with the teacher's rules.

Anywho, hope you like it, it was a blast to make

Thanks! It's basically just a LOT of small shots of various bits of tree, sky, and rock parts, layered in Photoshop. Most of the layers have blending modes, and I used a couple of adjustment layers (mostly curves, to pump the contrast and saturation)... with LOTS and LOTS of playing around to figure out what piece fit best where, and in what layer order.
